We decided that our Kennel Name - LYLOTTI - should be made from our first two bulldogs Lyla & Lottie as they were our first girls they should always be Lyla and Lottie in our future Bullies. We are a small show kennel based in the Lake District on the West Coast of Cumbria. Barry and I (Lauren) got our first Bulldog, Lyla - Dansbusters Make Me Love You At Lylotti -in August 2005 from Wendy Daniels - Dansbusters. Wendy warned us that bulldogs are a bug you cant seem to shake off! Wendy never spoke a truer word...4 months later Lottie - Biddle Gems Twinkle At Lylotti - came along, we got Lottie from Paul & Pauline Reynolds - Biddle. Lyla and Lottie are half sisters they both have the same sire ; IR.CH.Biddle Believe In The Truth (Spike) they both fell in love with each other as soon as they meet and still are best friends!
Left - Lottie & Lyla,
Our foundation bitches
Lottie at 8 weeks and Lyla...they still share a bed now...
Lauren's Gt.Grand Father,
Chaz.H.Thompson and one of his girls
Not Long after we got Lyla my Dads family (Lauren's Dad) got talking about Bulldogs. Little did we know that my Great Grandfather Charles Henry Thompson had bred bulldogs in the early 1900's. It's a shame as he passed away in the 50's and no one knows anything about his bulldogs. My Auntie found this picture breeders card but wasn't dated so we took it to several antique places and they estimated the date to early 1900's approx 1910 as the collar on my Great grandfathers shirt is rounded which meant it was pre war time, they guessed he did show his dogs as the table his dog is sitting on was used back then. This is all i know about him and his dogs, I have even requsted the Kennel Club to trawl through stud book records to try and find his affix but to no joy...Maybe someday I will find out?
In January 2007 Lyla produced us two beautiful baby bullie's, Del and Clyde.
Then in August 2007 Lottie gave us another two babies, Rebie hugging Ellie.
